thanks for your help and input ,, mike labauvr
Since test results, and thus reference ranges vary from lab to lab, we need to know the ranges for those tests you posted. It is very important to know where results fall within the ranges.
tsh 11.640
t3 free 3.2
t4 thyroxine 4.1
free t4 0.93
looks like the 145 amour is working , after 6 hours of work i hit a brick wall..
but the tsh is down alot from 33.335 on 5/4/12
now 6/15.12 thanks to all ,
145 mg armour, have a blood test being done now i will post the results when i get it
I agree with Totie that you need to find a good thyroid doctor.
In the interim, please post your thyroid related tests and their reference ranges shown on the lab report. What is your dosage of Armour?
Thyroid dosage is NOT based on weight. I was put on 200mcg when I had my TT & I was 88 lbs....
Find a doctor who knows what they are doing..Not guessing a dosage.
they took all of it out , 0% thyroid gland
2007 hoshimoto, with 7.2 by 6.0 thyroid with gother with 2 or 3 nodes ,
started on the genic , sythroid , first at 50. then 100 , they tried 125 i was having a heart attack then a leveled out at 112, then the doctors told the thyroid was growing more, the doctor said it was growing into my chest,
had surgury in july 2011 , my thyroid doctor took a guess i needed 175. because of my wieght. after 2 months by being a zomble, i went to armour the real thing, pig thyroid, the thing that bothered me the most was that my mother and father was hyper and i was hypo. is that strange .
p,s thanks gimel
I asked the questions about Hashi's and the TPO ab and TG ab tests because it was not clear to me if you had thyroid surgery or not. Please clarify.
Since you are already on Synthroid, with the symptoms of being tired and depressed, it is easy to suspect that your medication still is not adequate. If you will please post your thyroid related test results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report, members will be glad to assess the adquacy of your testing and treatment.
When you were originally diagnosed as hypothyroid and started on Synthroid, was the cause identified? Were you tested for the possibility of having Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? Those tests would have been TPO ab and TG ab.
No, you should not have to go through this for the rest of your life. A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting the biologically active thyroid hormones, Free T3 and Free T4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. Symptom relief should be all important, not just test results. Once you are adequately medicated to relieve symptoms, as described, then you can expect more consistent results.
