Tsh, Low Adrenal?

Dx w/Hashi's approx 8 yrs ago. Tsh hovers around 1and below on 1 grain armour and .5 levoxyl. Three am cortisol (8:00 am) over the past year 8,6, and 5. Started 5 mg. Prednisone 4 months ago and cannot get below 4.75 without severe muscle fatigue, weakness, and a general sick all over feeling. This resolves when I up my dose to 5. Can I test my adrenal function on Prednisone? Who would do the test? Local endo is unwilling and is certain I do not have an adrenal problem. Your thoughts? Should I seek another opinion?

I saw a naturopath who tested my adrenals by saliva testing.  It is a little costly and takes 10 days for the results to come back, but it might be worth a try.  I was very low in the morning and I am on DHEA 5 mgs at night.  I believe it has helped my while I am trying to still level my TSH.

I have had my adrenals tested using the saliva test. I found an internest who now is into the bioidentical hormone replacement. He testing my adrenals with the saliva kit and found that my cortisol levels were low all day long. The test is expensive but it might be worth getting yours tested this way - it seems to be a better testing system than the blood test, which normally comes back in the "normal" range each time. Try looking up Bodylogics on the internet and contact them to see if there is a doctor in your area doing this type of testing. Good luck!
