help desperately needed for mystery illness

hello....in october of last year i was in having my implant fitted by the nurse and she mentioned that i had a bald patch on my head that i didnt know about and ordered a thyroid function test. my T4 levels were at 54 and my tsh level was 0. the same test was repeated over and over with my thyroid function steadily increasing . i was hurriedly put on the drug carbimazole and a referral was put through to an endocrinologist. in the 11 weeks i waited for an appointment i lost 5 stone, 60% of my hair,my nails fell out, i lost all my body hair ,i suffered severe headaches and frequent urination and mostly the inability to move as i am so weak i struggle to even go to the toilet. when i eventually got my appointment he took me off carbimazole and did 2 blood tests that came back normal so he immediately discharged me from his clinic. as of today i am at a total loss as i am still so weak i can barely walk or even stay awake for more than 2 hours at a time and my body weight is dropping by 4lbs a week. my headaches are so awful that i often cry myself to sleep at night. i see flashing lights and i am constantly hearing people speak when noone is speaking. i seem to have lost the ability to spell properly and use words in correct context and since i have a degree in english literature this is strange.
please please help me.....i dont know what to do now

Was the T4, free or total?  Your result of 54 does not look like most Free T4 results we see.  What was the lab's reference range?

thank you for your reply. the endocrinologist seems to be under the impression, since discovering through a national database that i am a carer, that its not a medical diagnosis. i just absolutely hate going to the doc to see a different one every time or even the same one who simply asks you "so whats wrong" when youve already been attending for a year! x

Go see another doctor (if you have a primary care provider start there...get copies of all your tests sent to him/her).

Something is definitely wrong...your thyroid levels at the outset were WAY out of normal and indicative of hyperthyroidism, which explains many of your symptoms. Since the thyroid impacts so many other body functions, when it goes wonky, every else does also. Ask your doctor to do a FULL work up, looking at your thyroid AND the rest of your endocrine function...

You need to find a doctor who will keep looking until he/she finds the cause AND an effective treatment. I am just shocked that a doctor would discharge you without finding the cause and a treatment :(
