I had a metanephrine test, which tested them. Did not see the actual results but was told it was "normal". I have been taking adrenal stress end and sleep tonight. both adrenal support products from enzymatic,
I also take vit c 3 grams, b vits, selenium, calcium and magnesium for adrenal health. I have done a lot of research and it says that these vitamins and minerals are essential for adrenal therapy.
I also take coconut oil.
My problem was I have been in a very stressful situation for a very long time, and I thought that my thyroid/adrenal symptoms were just stress...
It has only been 3 months since my diagnosis, and I hope my recovery is mucy quicker than AR's. HE has been down and out for 2 years, I believe is what he said.
Hmmmm, I do know that if you do have any underlying adrenal problems you will feel worse and not better. Why don't you go to your local healthfood store and start with a good adrenal support. If you can get your doctor to do it have him run some tests on your adrenals before you start a supplement for them so you don't mask any results.
Your TSH level is good as long as you don't have any hyper symptoms.
Hi,
Thanks for reply. Endo said my antibodies are normal, never had a cortisol or adrenal tested.
My TSH is .80 tested 4/08
Hi there....did you have antibody tests done?? I do know that if you have a thyroid auto immune disease like hashimotos, then you need to have your TSH level supressed to .5-1.0, otherwise you will stay sick and not feel any better. Also do you have any adrenal issues?? Did anyone test your cortisol levels?
All of these issues cause extreme fatigue....relentless fatigue....as I have been dealing with this too. What were your most recent thyroid test levels??
Hi!
You can get those tapes or cd's in any book store, music store, or place that sells homeopathic items. Or probably online! Lol, it's been so long since I needed them, I forgot you can probably buy them through the computer! I didn't have a computer 12 years ago! The one tape I had that I loved was called, "Visualiization for Stress Reduction". One side really sux, but the other side put you to sleep like that! Let me know how you make out :)
Thank you so much for caring and offering your concern. It really lifts my spirit. Where do you get those relaxation tapes? I will see if I can get someone to pick some up for me.
Dear Peggy:
PLEASE don't give up! I see your posts, and I feel so bad for you! This sounds silly, but did you ever try Relaxation Tapes? When I first had my spine surgery, I couldn't sleep for months, then my massage therapist recommended these tapes. After two nights, as soon as I put the headphones on, I'd be sleeping before the tape started! Anything is worth a try! I hope you get some sleep soon :)
Take care!
Shari
Hi Peggy,
Sorry your experiencing exhaustion, hope you get answers and feel better soon.
Sleep deprivation seems to be the key factor in my exhaustion, but I sleep 8 hours a night solid, just alway's awaken super sleepy, tired, exhausted and feel the same through out the day. As if I didn't get any sleep at all. I have a sleep study consult on Tuesday. Hopefully they will have an answer.
Thanks for the comp background pic, gone fishing. Beautiful, breath taking scenary.
I am suffering from exhaustion, but if you read my posts you will see I have gone over 2 years without sleeping over 2 hours at a time. regardless of what I take.
My MD is not knowledgeable in this area, an unable to find one to see without waiting months.......
I am just about to give up.........
Hi Shari,
My doc scheduled an appointment with an oncologist, to see if I had any blood abnormalities. After I stopped Klonopin use my wbc count was chronically high, between 19-22,. My doctor suspected I had Leukemia, but my wbc returned to normal a few months later.
My surgeon is avoiding surgery, mainly because he said my tsh levels are normal, and no reason to remove a perfectly functioning thyroid, so he ordered test to figure out why my thyroid swelled, and test didn't reveal any answers. I've been suffering ever since.
I'm a perfect candidate for the tv show mystery diagnosis.
Hi AJ,
You're welcome for the reply:) From what I've read, thyroid diseases can cause exhaustion, but it hasn't hit me yet. I do take Klonopin 2mg at night ever since I had a spinal fusion 12 years ago. I never took more than prescribed, as a matter of fact, I'm supposed to take 2 a day and never have! May I ask why you see an Oncologist?
Hi Shari,
Hope your having a wonderful day. Thanks for reply. I just written all the info in my journal. I was taking .5mg once a night for sleep, off/on for 8 months, after developing chronic insomnia, when I quit smoking. I quit smoking for 1.5 years, then started again.
I've been off Klonopin for 15 months. A few weeks after I stopped Klonopin, my thyroid began to swell, while going through klonopin wd he!!
Klonopin wd's and thyroid disease have same symptoms, reason this is so hard for me not knowing what is causing what. My thyroid tests all return normal, other then my enlarged thyroid, and biopsy returned benign.
Since all this began, I went from a very active, outgoing person to being bedridden, for months. I was convinced I had terminal illness.
Reason I would like to know if, thyroid disease can cause such exhaustion. And maybe my doctor is overlooking an important thyroid test. Just wish, doctors would help me.
How long have you been withdrawing from Klonopin, and how long were you taking it? What were you taking it for??
