Vitamin D 1.25mg prescription

I have recently been dx with acromegaly and had my pituitary tumor almost completely removed.  My chief complaint has been extreme fatigue prior to diagnosis and remains post surgery (Feb 19, 2009).  I was told this week that my Vitamin D level is very low and I was prescribed 1.25 mg to take twice a week for two months.  How many doses does it usually take to start feeling more energized?

I have Hashimoto's and had severe muscle spasms and aches, I was advised by this forum to take Vitamin D and Magnesium, I started taking 800 units of "D" and 400 mgs of Magnesium, I noticed a marked improvement in 7 Days, I don't how 1.25 mg compares in strength to "Units Per Day" They just came out with an advisory for Vitamin D that states the Per day units should be increased to at least 1,000 units per day. and if between ages of 50 and 70 you should take up to 2,000 units per day.  Good Luck FTB4
