thinking about adding cytomel

Hypothyroid- started on 25mg of Synthroid - felt immediately better but end of week 3 felt the old symptoms coming back. Upped to 50mgs but not feeling huge difference. How long before I should think about another change of meds or dosage? Doctor initially wanted to put me on Armor Thyroid but for ethical reasons I resisted (I'm a vegetarian). So would adding Cytomel or switching to a T3/T4 combo like Thyrolar help?
Also has anyone cured their condition with natural remedies and/or diet? I'm open to doing that as well! Thank you.

Thank you! I guess I was just expecting a miracle increase in energy on a double dosage as I had initially felt so good after the smaller dose. I'll stick it for another month and see how I go. thank you!

a damaged thyroid is not curable.

None of the thyroid medications or drugs are a 100 percent cure-all for symptoms. If you are having the rare condition of conversion problem,  T3 supplement might be warranted.  However, symptoms after levels are in labs reference range, have been stable for a while, and enough time for healing, which is different for everybody, then, symptoms are probably those of normal people.

Perhaps you need another med. dose adjustment.

I'm a veggie too.
