Hi!
I don't know too much about the Hematocrit, however, I do know that the MCHC is the Mean Cell Haemoglobin Concentration. In other words, the average haemoglobin concentration in a given volume of red blood cells.
Are you deficient in Vit B12 or folic acid by any chance??? That can be one of the causes of a slightly low MCHC.
Best talk to your doctor next time you're there and see what they think.
My MCHC is consistantly quite low because I have a chronic iron deficiency and am anemic (due to iron defiency and a herediary blood disorder I have). I need iron injections to keep my levels at a base normal level.
Good luck!!!
Hi, Not sure about my B12 or folic acid, But my dr sent me a lab slip to do more labs
maybe she is check those. All i know is I am very tired.
I never know if it is from my Thyroid or Fibro now maybe something else!!
Thank you I do have an appt set already, after I get my new labs done.
sometimes I feel like a pin cushion LOL
Yes !!there has been blood lose. I just had a hyster. and after the surgery a blood vessel bled out and they had to give me 2 pints of blood. My blood pressure dropped to 70/30 and had a radip respones team called for me. Also It has taken a long time to heal from this surgery and I was just telling my Sister today it never felt like the swelling and bloating in my stomach went down, like they said it would. also getting night sweats so I think I need hormones.
Oh just to much junk, need to have some fun soon!!!
Ah! The blood loss from the surgery could be the reason your result has come back low.
Talk it over with the doc and see if it's suggested getting re-tested once you recover fully.
I hope you recover well and all goes well from here!! :)
I have a appt also with gyno on the 15th,
so maybe she needs to do a test to see if somethings wrong.
I wish I would have not done this Surgery when I did, I just was not up to it. Even had a uti and Strep. Just was to sick and knew I was to weak at the time.
Thank you so much for your knowledge.
Another reason could be recent blood loss, have you had a bad injury that has bled quite alot or donated blood recently????????
I know what you mean by feeling like a pin cushion. I've just had RAI and am having thyroid bloods weekly! Then having iron tests and blood counts on top!!! I think I am a pin cushion!!! LOL!!!
Good luck for your appointment!!!
