What kind of Doctor should I be seeing?

Right now I just go to a family practice that takes my medicaid but they are horrible at responding to me and when I need an urgent appointment they are always 2-3 weeks out. Is there a certain type of doctor that would be better for me?

I hate my doctor and really want to switch. Last time I was in and complained about my weight gain and some other issues he told me to just push away from the table. I was so mad!  I need someone that actually listens to me and cares.

I'm in Colorado so if anyone else on here is from here and can give me some referrals...that would be great.

Thanks
Kristina

I live in Commerce City Colorado but will go anywhere within 40 miles...like Golden, Lakewood, Denver. I have found a few doctors and will call them all tomorrow to see if they accept my insurance.

Thanks

The couple months I've gained 10 lbs, have been sooo tired, moody and forgetful. The last month I've had more issues....Facial Ticks (blinking fast) and anxiety attacks. These started while I was still on Levothyroxine. I've been off meds for 2 weeks so I can get the Uptake Scan in 2 weeks but my doctor still hasn't sent the orders to the hospital so I can't make the appointment yet. I'm getting so frustrated.
So far the hypothyroidism hasn't effected my menstrual cylce too much. Just lasts way longer and is heavier and more painful..but its always on track...exactly 30 days. I just want to feel better so I have energy for my 3 kids and I also run an in-home daycare and it's hard to do with no energy. Hopefully I can find a new doctor that specializes in thyroid disorders so I can get better help.

I have started a listing of doctors recommended as good thyroid doctors by fellow members.  Where in Colorado are you located?

Well for starters you need a doctor who does not blow your symptoms off. Besides weight gain what other symptoms are you having?
