Whats causing thyroid change?

I had a physical in January and my TSH was 5.39, then tested again in March and it was 1.56. So it went back down to normal. Well, I had another one day a few days ago and its back to 5.40. What could be causing this to change so drastically in such a short amount of time?

Both T3 and T4 were both completely normal, all times tested. Just the TSH was off those times.

TSH is a pituitary hormone and it's not uncommon for it to fluctuate.  Are you getting your actual thyroid hormones tested?  Free T3 and Free T4?  Have you ever had antibodies tested to see if you have an autoimmune thyroid issue?

It's possible that you have nodules that could "leak" hormone and cause fluctuations in TSH.  Have you had a thyroid ultra sound?
