Where can I find data

I have found my body responds best to the brand name Synthroid after having been on Levothyroxin for years.  My TSH levels were always fluctuating.  I had to see my doctor every 4 months and have my TSH levels checked.  If my levels changed and my medication had to be adjusted, I would have to see my doctor every 2 months.  This was causing additional expense to our budget (deductables) and insurance company.  My problem is that our insurance provider (Medco Health) says this is a non-preferred drug. As such, I would have to pay more than our usual $25 deductable per 90 day fill with the plan only covering a small amount.  I have writen and online inquirey stating my case.  Medco responded with "If you would like to request an appeal, please write to the following address."   I would like to request an appeal, but would like some feedback from professionals who belive as I do that some people respond better to Synthroid than to generic and why.  I would like to include this in my appeal.  Maybe state some statistical data. Can anyone make suggestions?

I'm new to this, but my docter wants me to take the brand name med too.  They offer discounts on their website http://www.synthroid.com/Index.cfm and I'm told that I should shop around and see what the stores are selling the med for before even trying to use my prescription plan.  Apparently, it can be cheaper to pay the store price than the Prescription Plan non-generic price.  Not sure what I'll end up doing.  Right now he has me taking meds that were samples until my first blood test for a baseline.

Are you referring to Generic Levothyroxine or  Levothyroxine?
