They make your eyes water (hehehehehe) lol.
I am glad you are feeling more confident :)
Thanks so much! The tech said the same thing about the WBS done only a week later. He said usually they do them 10-14 days later. I immediately called my endo who said basically that their equipment must be faulty and she usually sends patients to the hospital for the WBS at one week with no problem. Since I have the HMO I had to go my insurance covered diagnostic center.
Thanks for the lemon slice advice. I need to clear my pallet every so often because of the infamous metallic like taste. The lemon slices sound refreshing!
It does take up to 90 days to eliminate most of the RAI and I would say that is why your thyroid area is showing up so much iodine. It is there to do a job....ablate any existing thyroid tissue that may be there....so of course there is going to be increased iodine activity.
Personally I dont think it is too much to worry about and cant for the life of me figure out WHY a full body scan was done so soon after RAI.
I know when I had RAI......I was hyper for at least 3-4 weeks afterwards.
As for the lemon drops....I gave up on those after the first one and instead chewed fresh lemon slices lol.
I felt like I was going to choke on lemon drop lollies.
The lemon slices worked great especially with the water.
Dont forget to keep drinking plenty of water....that is most important.
I felt like a goldfish (full of water) at the end of it all but continued with the lemon slices and did keep drinking water for up to 4 weeks afterwards but not as much as the first few days.
The worst is over now......I wouldnt worry too much about what the Tech said....he is a tech and not a Doctor.
If you are concerned...call your Doctor who will most probably tell you the same thing.
(((hugs)))
bumping up....hoping someone has been in similar situation
