After a strange epilogue of symptoms i have been diagnosed with Hasimoto, previously thought to be hypothyroidism induced by cancer treatments. I'm managing most of the troublesome symptoms but i'm struggling with an intense burning i have after intercourse and ejaculation. My endocrinologist can only recommend condoms. Does anyone else have this problem and if so any ideas.... frustratingly waiting any response!!!!!

I think it would be possible to take it right before intercourse or maybe 1 hour before I don't see why not. Ask your Doctor but I'm sure that taken it earlier than I did would give you a better chance to actually enjoy things again because then the medicine would be in your body already and ready to attack.

I also am 5'2" and I refuse to get on the scale - I get too depressed - I would love my size 10-12 if I were 6 inches taller - with the puffy face - I look like a pug!!LOL  I AM screaming for answers - I am new to this forum - can hardly get anyone to respond - I told my husband about this wonderful forum and I bet he's so glad you guys can hear me complain now.

You're so right but have to say when you're only 5'2" and 10 stone..sorry i'm from England ha...it's uncomfortable and doesn't help those sluggish days. I don't see why we can't discuss anything on here if it's all related. Not only for ourselves but there areprobably people out there screaming for answers. I'm also a psychiatric nurse so as on many occasion i've been told my attitude is typical for my job....hard pressed to be offended. Good luck everyone.

Just saying, ladies--size 10-12 can be fabulous! Sure, I am trying to take off a few pounds myself. If I think about it, I've been trying since seventh grade. But if you REALLY listen to what men like, and I mean the men you come across in daily life and find attractive, it's not the skinny chicks they hanker for. Sometimes I think we confuse the images we see in magazines with reality. All those Old Masters who loved and painted women had the right idea. Skinny women just would not look right in a Titian or Renoir.

So do I ...he sometimes asks me what I found out today...from this forum.  I had gained about 40-50 pounds over the last 2 years with my former Endo saying there was no reason I couldn't exercise or complete a workout program.   UHHH!  How about the fact that I could barely get out of bed!  Since my TT I have lost about 12 pounds...so that is a good thing!

Thanks for your input on something so personal but I swear this is has been tremendous.

I think alaw37 has a point. I've ballooned from size 10 to a 14 with sickening cellulite. Mt partner is so patient and loving but even when i try i just feel numb sometimes. Sometimes just having a lovely massage to relax and then some inventive tenderness with no pressure can help the mood! Afraid not come across any wonder drug. I'm also on antidepressant but for other reasons. That may help with low drive.
I think this forum is gonna drive my partner mad coz i keep finding out i'm not so mad and share alot with many others..and i have to tell him of hose eureka moments!!

NO sex drive - Actually I do think about it - love my hubby more than ever - married 13 yrs. but I wonder sometimes if it's because I feel so ugly - I wonder if I were a size 6 instead of a size 10-12 would I be a love machine.  It seems I'm more amorous when I am thinner.  I am also new to this forum and so many things I have read about here I have experienced.  I am so glad my husband is patient with me -  he is great!  I wonder if it's just "dry" like the rest of me.     Probably hormone related like everything else!!!LOL -

p.s. what about decreased sex drive?  Any input on that?  This has been driving me crazy for so long...it has really changed my life.

I don't get fissures..BUT..i had to go start using Replens moisturiser and Vielle lubricant because after my chemo my periods stopped and i lost natural lubricant and had same probs with dry and cracked labia.Don't doubt yourself because i thought i was going nuts and couldn't explain my problems to anyone without sounding like a hypochondriac. I've just joined this forum and to be honest am slightly alarmed at just how many different problems are out there with Hashi!!!

OMG - I have the exact same thing - not just with intercourse - but two weeks b4 period - I have fissures or cracks on my labia - it is excuciating - they actually bleed.  I am newly hypo diagnosed in April and have had these for a couple years now - OBGYN gave me Lidocaine gel - which numbs everything -takes the joy out of it.  I also have dry scaly feet and scalp - just wonder if it's all thyroid related.  Go to the Endo in Aug.  Glad to hear someone else experiences the burn!!  Was wondering if it was just in my head.  Almost feels like a yeast infection.  Is there increased incidence of yeast with thyroid problems?  Does anyone know?

That sounds encouraging. Can you take it before coz my pain is within 5 minutes of ejaculation!!

I had the same problem with my husbands sperm and my doctor perscribed me Bactrim DS which I would take 1 by mouth right after intercourse. It worked great.
