Stella-Yes I had a saliva done and the am was high on that one too, the other levels throughout the day and night were high normal. I just went and picked up my jugs today...lol
I just want them to figure it out and make me feel better. I am so tired of this heavy fog and feeling like i am going to collapse...also the shakes and trembles are horrible.
I have gotten worse on armour instead of better...but he said that can be do to adrenals and or not a high enough dosage. He said you cannot go by the conversion charts. I feel very hypo.
Sue- He isn't sure if it is cushings or addisons....he said that some with addisons will show as high am cortisol instead of all lows. We shall see...I am going to fill my jugs tomorrow and go for my bloodwork on wed.
You need to be tested with a 24 hr saliva test to see where your ranges fall. High in the am and dipping till evening.
Was that done?
I had an endo workup, brain MRI, a few 24 hour urines and as of now everything had returned to normal. Mine was just elevated a little, I think my AM one was 25 and my 24 hour urine was 53.6....high being over 50. I had a dexamethasone suppression test which I passed and followed up with another 24 hour urine which came back normal (in the 30's). Let me know how you make out. So you have symptoms of cushings?
I am going through testing right now for high morning cortisol results. I will be going on wed for more blood work and take in a 24hr urine collection for free cortisol ave. My doc said it is not something that can be overlooked and has to be tested further.
You need to find a new Dr. A lot of Drs seem to shy away from the condition if they are unfamiliar. A good website to look at is www.cushings-help.com. There is also a a section where you can look for a dr in your area that is familiar with cushings. Good Luck!
I've been checked out for it. Brain MRI abdominal MRI, blood tests etc. My doc doesn't want to test any further.
If you have high cortisol you should be ckd for Cushings. My friend had high cortisol and they did test after test and found she had a tumor on her pituitary. She had it removed and has a few left over problems now (diabetes insipidus) but is doing OK. That is something you just let slide..
