compounded T4/T3 in place of armour thyroid

Hey everyone!  It has been a while since I have been on!  I am starting the compounded T4/T3 tomorrow in place of armour thyroid.  I was wondering if anyone else has changed over to this and any successs you have had with the change.  My dr. says everyone she has changed feels better immediatly-including her.  I hope I am one of those people!

I will also keep you posted on how I am feeling once I start tomorrow.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

T4 converts to T3, so if you aren't converting, you'd need to add more T3, not more T4.

What are your current thyroid levels?  Please post them, along with reference ranges, so members can  better assess your testing/treatment.

I'm so confused about this-I have been on 30mg armor thyroid for about a year. And I'm now learning that there may be a difference between compound and armour - my t4 is not converting- so can a compound add more of the t4

I started taking a compounding thyroid med about one month ago, after being on Armour for about 1 year.  I thought Armour worked best .. the compounding formula gives me heart papitations and has caused my blood pressure to rise.  I am seeking a new dr. to help me but I am wondering if I could take the meds for 2 days then skip a day.  I did this recently and my blood pressure came down and my papitations stopped.  I have tried to work with my dr. but she refuses to lower the dose of 18 mg.  I was taking 15mg of Armour then she saw that my numbers were off a tad so she upped the mg. on the compounding formula.  My numbers have always been within the range suggested but not necessarily where the dr. wanted them.  So I have been in a quandry trying to figure oput what to do - the new dr can't see me till dec. 3rd.  Any suggestions??? Much Aprreciated!
