could this be thyroids

hi, i have all the symptoms for thyroids, was just wondering if one of the symptoms is short of breath, i went to the doctors because i was worried there was something wrong with me, always shaking, nervous, always feel hot and have to keep the window open, got so worried i started having panick attacks, i dont feel like eating, cant sleep, the doctor said it could be anxiety and depression, so put me on anti depression, after taking for 3 days made me me feel ill, so got to stop taking them, the doctor said my heart is fine and my oxegen levels are 98%, so nothing wrong with my breathing, just feel tierd all the time and dont want to do anything,

My condition was serious as I was down to 6 breaths a minute. Didn't mean to freak you out over that since it's a symptom of severe hypothyroidism.

Sounds very much like hypothyroidism often misdiagnosed and prescribed anti depressants . You must have had blood tests for it surely? Having said that some thyroid diseases mask results! Don't just leave it if you feel like this there is a reason go back to doctor for more tests .i was always sent home with a flea in my ear because my tests came back normal your symptoms do sound like mine but there are other illnesses with these symptoms .more tests needed doctors do make mistakes sometimes and also insist on going by blood tests not how the patient feels and symptoms!! Good luck.

Shortness of breath is a listed possible symptom of hypothyroidism. I had this symptom severely (severe bradpynea) and my pulse oximeter test showed normal as well; 98% I think. The pulse oximeter solely haemoglobin saturation not ventilation (breathing).

Excerpt from Turner Medical - Pulse Oximeter Information...

"Oximetry is not a complete measure of respiratory sufficiency. A patient suffering from hypoventilation (poor gas exchange in the lungs) given 100% oxygen can have excellent blood oxygen levels while still suffering from respiratory acidosis due to excessive carbon dioxide.

It is also not a complete measure of circulatory sufficiency. If there is insufficient bloodflow or insufficient hemoglobin in the blood (anemia), tissues can suffer hypoxia despite high oxygen saturation in the blood that does arrive."
