connection of heart and synthroid amount

both thyroid out. am on 125 dose of synthroid, was on 75 and then it was upped to 125.  My heart is now beating out of rythym, its hard to breath normally, and I can't do the usual amount of excercising I usually do.  It's been a month and endocrinologist  doesn't seem to think there's a connection of heart and thyroid or usage of synthroid.  I'm very frustrated.  The heart problems are frightening.  Appreciate any help,  sincerely, sam

My thyroidless daughter developed this same issue with her heart while exerting herself in the smallest way on Synthroid. Her endo. said the same thing and was just covering her butt! The heart doctor said her heart was fine however she had 83 PVC's within 20 days. He had no idea how not having a thyroid or her medication or hormone levels could effect the heart. I finally got a doctor to check her freet3  level and it was very low and her t4 fronm the Synthroid was very high. She was not converting enough of the t3 into t4 on her own. I switched her doctors and got her the t3 her body needed and got the t4 lower and the PVC's went away. It was the inbalance in her thyroid hormone and not having enough t3 (the active hormone that the cells must have for organs and the body to work properly-especially the heart) acusing this sudden hypothyroid symptom. Get your free t3 and  freet4 level checked, as this could be your issue too since you have no thyroid gland too.

There is definitely a connection between thyroid meds and heart issues.  Increases in meds can exacerbate previously known conditions or bring previously unknown ones to the surface.  Too rapid an increase can cause heart problems.   Don't let your doctor ignore this...it's much too uncomfortable to ignore.  The increase from 75 to 125 is quite a big increase.  Perhaps you have to move more slowly.

Do you have recent free T3, free T4 and TSH results and their reference ranges?  Ranges vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report (they're usually in parentheses after the result).  We can comment better if we see these.
