I am in that category.
Many symptoms for years inc. constipation, dry skin, anxiety w/PMS, lack of concentration, etc.
TSH was normal at 2.8
after unrelated surgery and now on unrelated Synthroid TSH is 1.8 and all is perfect!!!!!
Now they all agree I was subclinical of some sort.
Hmmmm is all I say
Grrrrrrrrrrrr is how I feel when I write this out.
5 yrs of symptoms and even being told once that all older women blame it all on their thyroids .. so I ask now ... after being on laxative for 2.5yrs with all tests normal .... why am I off all laxatives now that my TSH is 1.8 vs. 2.8 and when even at 1.0 it was even more dramatically improved.
Their answer: You are right (meaning me ..) HA
C~
Listen to AR on that othewr post - either tell this one you have to really care for you = or fire him and get a new one.
I have been reading alot of your comments tonight and I hear you. You are alos in the circus of thyroid TSH numbers.
I hope this helps you - AND also I advise you to educate yourself immediately about your condition and become your own advocant on your thyroid situation.
If YOU know what you are speaking about with your doctor - the more they are willing to listen and "hear" you.
I am going to write this down to ask my endo tomorrow. I am about to lose my job because the endo told my short term disability people that I should feel fine. Maybe SHE would like to pay me unemployment and feed/clothe my 9 month old!
