Surgery

I have a multimodular goiter and I would like to take it out because in 2 years I will retire back home with no insurance. Everyday I feel that there is a pressure in my throat, have a hoarse voice all the time and the worst is headache.  Sometimes I am having a hard time sleeping and always tired.  Is it advisable to have a surgery as soon as possible?  Please advice.  thanksI

Surgery depends on the situation. If you had an fna that is benign and the nodules grow and cause breathing issues, the surgeon may recommend surgery because of the large goiter.

Doctors are more reluctant to do surgery unless they suspect cancer or if it is a cosmetic issue. I have a choking feeling. My isthmus is too large but my nodules have shrunk on the medication.

Aren't you on thyroid meds?
