hypoechoic nodule

Five years ago had TAH-BSO for uterine CA.  After the surgery the pathology report indicated  "lymphatic space invasion".  I underwent external beam radiation and brachia therapy at the time.  Recently, during a routine physical my GP noticed a lump on the side of my neck and ordered an ultrasound which identified a 7.2x7x7mm hypoechoic nodule in the right lobe.  The right lobe is approximately double the size of the left.
My question is:  given the history of lympathic/vascular space invasion from my previous cancer experience, is the risk greater or is the past problem insignificant.

thanks

If it helps you at all my ins. declined my thyroid uptake scan .. as I still have a 3mm nodule in place in my intact lobe.  In the longrun my Endo said it really can only confuse things anyway as it isn't a definitive test and with 7.2cm mass I would think you are talking removing it regardless bcz keep in mind these masses can twist and attach themselves to things inside and cause voice problems, nerve problems, parathyroid problems, not to mention choking problems.

I am not a Dr. so cannot really answer your ? I guess you are asking if uterine cancer could have traveled thru the lymph nodes and now presenting in your thyroid?  I would ask to have a biopsy done (FNA) and then get a somewhat better idea what is going on in the thyroid nodule  .. My two nodules were hypoechoic, too, and turned out to be totally benign with no lymph node involvement.

I am assuming they want to do surgery witth a mass that large ?  I am sorry you are going thru this now.
