My wife has thryoid cancer. Diagnosed and treated since 2005, it has now spread to her lungs,
agreesively in the last 6 to 8 months.

The cancer so far has not responded to radiation. And the doctor is investigating if one more
treatment of iodine is an option or is even worth the effort. After that only exerimental treatments are avaliable.

Here's the two part question.

(1)At the moment, what experimental treatmentals show the most promise?

(2)I have look at alternatives. One is geranium. The other is mild silver protein(being recommended by a friend).

Any comments, suggestions, etc. greatly appreciated.

Thank you for patience and help

What kind of thyca your wife has? And how old she is? Did they do RAI treatment after they did TT.  I wish you and your wife the best! I have thyca since 2006 and a lot of problems after TT and RAI.
P.S. I am 34 y.o. female.

I am so sorry about your wife's condition.

Speaking for myself, I am not qualified to give advise in this area of preciousness.

You might go to the Doctor Thyroid Forum and ask Dr. Lupo at http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/120      OR
at left of page almost top, under "Thyroid Disorders" in red click on "thyroid" it will take you to the forum.

OR

Go to the Medical and Health list of Doctor-to-Patient or  Patient to Patient Forums at: http://www.medhelp.org/forums.htm and chose a forum that fits your condition and/or needs, such as cancer, lung cancer.

If you have posted more than one post per the sites rules for doctors forums, you probably won't get answered.  Or if the forum is full and not taking any more questions for the day, you can try another day.

Thoughts and prayers to both of you.

First off, I'm so sorry for both your wife and you in having to deal with this. =- {

The only advice I can offer, is that you post this to Dr. Lupo (it's free) in the "ask the doctor" thyroid forum.

I hope and pray that you find a viable treatment that works for your wife.

Best to you and yours,
~Kate
