Based on where many of us had to be for symptom relief, the recommendation is for FT4 to be about 50% of range. So, yours is pretty low. Your doctor didn't test FREE T3. Next time around, you should request that.
Do you know if your mother has Hashimoto's thyroiditis (autoimmune hypo)?
Many doctors really only look at TSH. Since yours is in range, you have to prepare yourself to put some pressure on your doctor.
Does your mother work well with whoever manages her hypo?
Yes I do! I'm tired a lot but don't sleep well...two years ago lost almost 50 pounds and I still workout 5 days a week but cannot lost anymore...in fact I have gained almost 15 pounds in 6 weeks when I upped my going to the gym...I eat very clean and have logged all my foods for over a year and still cannot lose anymore weight.....I am a sz 10 but skinny fat and have large belly fat and easily need to lose 15-20 pounds but instead gaining! Also I have dry skin..hair loss..forgetfulness...emotions all over the place!! And irregular periods for 9 months...in December I had a cycle last 60 days..then it's normal then next cycle long again...currently I am 14 days late. I am 37... My mom started perimenpause late 30s and she has been hypo meds for 40 years. I just got Insurance so this was my first dr visit.... Something is definitely off and I just want answers!
Your FT4 is quite low. It's at 26% of range, and the guideline for FT4 is 50%.
