From Mayo Clinic, the following are prevalent symptoms of hypo:
Fatigue
Increased sensitivity to cold
Constipation
Dry skin
Unexplained weight gain
Puffy face
Hoarseness
Muscle weakness
Elevated blood cholesterol level
Muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness
Pain, stiffness or swelling in your joints
Heavier than normal or irregular menstrual periods
Thinning hair
Slowed heart rate
Depression
Impaired memory
Also from Mayo Clinic, the following are prevalent symptoms of hyper:
Sudden weight loss, even when your appetite and the amount and type of food you eat remain the same or even increase
Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia) — commonly more than 100 beats a minute — irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) or pounding of your heart (palpitations)
Increased appetite
Nervousness, anxiety and irritability
Tremor — usually a fine trembling in your hands and fingers
Sweating
Changes in menstrual patterns
Increased sensitivity to heat
Changes in bowel patterns, especially more frequent bowel movements
An enlarged thyroid gland (goiter), which may appear as a swelling at the base of your neck
Fatigue, muscle weakness
Difficulty sleeping
Skin thinning
Fine, brittle hair
Note that the constipation is mostly hypo, while frequent looser stools is typically, hyper.. Weight gain, is mostly hypo, while weight loss is typically, hyper. Slower heart rate (bradycardia) is, typically, hypo, while fast heart rate (tachycardia) is, typically, hyper. Increased sensitivity to cold is, typically, hypo, while sweating more, is "often" hyper, but I had both, cold and sweating, when hypo.
They list "enlarged thyroid (goiter), as hyper, but as we know, that's also hypo.
It can be confusing, trying to figure it out.
I can't help wonder if your fatigue could related to something else, because no matter what your thyroid levels have done, that hasn't gone away.
i think this is me, but i do have diareah, but that could be from the missing gallbladder:
Fatigue
Increased sensitivity to cold
Constipation
Dry skin
Unexplained weight gain
Puffy face
Hoarseness
Muscle weakness
Elevated blood cholesterol level
Thinning hair
Slowed heart rate
Depression
Impaired memory
i dont have muscle aches either way, i work out daily. I dont have menstrul problems obviously.
I took my hormone this morning instead of last night. I slept better last night, didnt get jolted out of bed at 4 am. so today i am on hormone as of 9 am. I can feel the hormone creeping in. Ears starting to ring and fatigue.
**** also, now that im taking hormone during the day, i have a test coming up in 2 weeks. I dont understand the theory of testing before medication. if i am on thyroid hormone most of my waking hour, dont i want to know my level ON hormone? why would i test before taking my hormone? that doesnt make sense to me. I want to know my levels ON hormone *****???
A missing gall bladder should not give you diarrhea; however, your diet may, especially, if you eat a lot of high fiber foods, like veggies, etc.
Working out daily doesn't guarantee the absence of muscle aches/pains. I worked out daily for months and still had them.
If you are taking a T4 only medication, it really doesn't matter whether or not you take your med before you have a blood draw or not, because the T4 in your blood will not reflect what you took that morning, it will reflect what you took a couple of weeks ago.
Because T3 med is fast acting and in/out of your system in a few hours, it should not be taken before a blood draw, because it will give false high results.
thank you. SO an update for you - I decided to stray from the pack for two days and take my medication during the day. BIIIIG mistake. I am definitely a night time hormone taker. I felt like i could barely keep my eyes open at night on that stuff. SO looks like ill be taking synthroid at night for the rest of my life. Im ALMOST there. I feel like if i could just take this one step further, i would be out of the water. I make it til about 5 pm and then the ears start ringing etc. blood test is tuesday. cant freakin wait. I hope i need one more slight increase..
