Alona is a great source on medullary cancer and she has really researched her hospitals! I'd check into the one she mentioned!

I was informed that Siteman Cancer Institute at Washington University -Barnes Jewish Hospital St. Louis is the place to go- Dr. Jeff Moley- for thyroid and definitely Medullary Thyroid Cancer if this is what he has.
Since the nodules aren't taking up iodine, I'm guessing they are *not* papillary or follicular, correct?
Do you know the diagnosis? (there are four types of thyroid cancer: papillary, follicular (including Hurthle cell), medullary, and anaplastic)
Following surgery, papillary and follicular are treated one way (with radioactive iodine) and medullary and anaplastic are treated very differently - usually with external beam radiation (since they are NOT made up of thyroid tissue and do not absorb iodine).
