multinodual goiter

I am 22 years old and I have a lump on my throat and the doctor says it is a mutlinodual goiter. They sent me to get lab work done for my thyroid and that came back normal. So now they want to do a needle biopsy on it.It does not hurt or feel uncomfortable or anything I can just see it and feel it when I touch my throat and it is hard. What are my chances of it being cancer and if it is what can they do for me, is it life threathing?

So far your chances are 5-15 %.  If it is over 1 cm, they can do a biopsy.  Just to let you know, all my labs were within normal range, I had 4 nodules, biggest 2.1 cm and smallest .8 cm, all solid and vascular, and although they were all benign, I still had cancer.  The biopsy is a piece of cake, not really painful, and if may tell you if you need to worry or if it is just something you need to watch.
