Hi. I was just told today that I have multinodular goiters. I have an ultrasound scheduled for dec.4th. I had this done 3 years ago also a needle biopsy it was good but now its bigger and more of them. What does this all mean. He mentioned taking it out , I guess meaning thyroidectomy. How did that go for you. How do you feel and are you able to keep your weight down? Thanks

Hello-

I was initially diagnosed with multi-nodular goiter as well.  I have 3 nodules that range in size from 1.7 to 2.7cm.  After many tests and FNA's I have been diagnosed with Papillary cancer and they are still checking to see if I have had any spread.  I will be having a total thyroidectomy very soon and possibly lymph nodes removed.  I would definitely follow up with an endocrinologist for further tests and US guided FNA.  Good luck.

The circumscribed complex solid and cystic mass can be suggestive of follicular neoplasm which will require biopsy due to its size and composition [mixed] any information about blood flow [Doppler color flow] in this mass
