I will ask my doctor at next appt. I thought I read somewhere that low iodine could cause nodules, so I'm really interested. It's nice to know there are more benefits to taking it too. Thanks sidneythyroid.
I am not a doctor and cannot advise you. Although I started at a low dose 14.5 and went up but very slowly I now that you should absolutely be monitored so that you don't get to much Iodine in your system. For me I feel good 1) the Iodine is going into the Breast as its biggest second storage area otherthen the Thyroid and that is helping prevent breast cancer. 2) The fat in my brain is deminished leading to a clear head and a whole lot less brain fog. I can remember where I left my car, what I had for dinner and what I watched on TV. The last benifit the Tire is going going going fat is coming off.
I also was wondering about taking Iodoral, I had a P/T and I have Hashimoto. Do you think it would be safe to take?
some Kelps are toxic hence the name Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Are you referring to Total Thyroidectomy? I take Iodoral some take Lugi's best to reseach both will be worth your efforts. You can take a Iodine test using Tenture Iodine just put a patch in that you can watch depending on how long it takes to disappear is how you tell if you have a Iodine deficancy.
Take your script and don't depend on kelp.
Not very stable and not proven to keep things right for you
