Thank you for your advice regarding my recovery with thyroidectomy. It certainly made me feel better about having low energy and why I feel the way I do. I appreciate your time and thought in this!
Hi, Sorry to read of your discomfort. Patience is the key friend, at the moment your body system needs to rest, without adding additional stress, as your body is adjusting to a new way of life. First few weeks can be quite difficult for some, but try to do your best to eat properly, rest, with light activity. Yes, the waiting can appear like a lifetime, but as your body adjust, the process speeds up.
As for trouble sleeping, try to eliminate sugar products, if your consuming any. After TT, I eliminate all sugar products, drank water only for a few weeks, which tremendously help'd anxiouness.
Good luck with physician visit. Wishing you well :)
Thank you for your help, I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and I will keep your advice in mind.
Most that have TT, have Hypothyroid symtoms for a while until your body absorbs the replacement hormone, insomnia and fatigue are classic symptoms of underactive thyroid, in your case your system is dependant on medication only, It may take a little trial and error for a while until your dosage is regulated. Hypothyroid causes many symptoms, the two I mentioned, and some times depression and anxiety, muscle aches and sometimes a little mental confusion we call brain fog, if you have some of these symptoms don't worry about it, just keep in mind that this is a normal symptom of a lack of thyroid hormone, If you have muscle aches or muscle pain, take Vitamin D and Magnesium Glycinate, 1000 D a day and 400 Mag 2x a day, do not take any food for an hour after taking the thyroid med, and avoid any fiber for four hours after taking meds. Make sure if the Vitamin D is an oil capsul, That it does not contain soy, soy interferes with the absorption of the medication. Regards FTB4
