Hello,
I have tested hyperthyroid on 11th oct2007 and my doctor started the medication "strumazol-30mg". In Jan my doctor told me now she want to start therapy and gave me 3 options-Radio active Iodine therapy, Thyroid and strumazol combination, PTU.
Now i am on thyrox and strumazol combination. I am 29 year old want to get pregnet soon is it safe for me to get pergnet or should i have to wait till the medication is over?

Thanks

Strumazol is Methimazole (MMI) and Doctors never recommend Radioactive Iodine if you want to fall pregnant.
Usually they will prescribe PTU as it sint as strong as Methimazole.
Maybe others can comment on this as I dont have the expertise to answer about pregnancy and PTU but do know that RAI is not recommended if you want pregnancy to occur within the next 6 months.
