question about biopsy

I am having a biopsy on Thursday and they told me that I need to be driven by someone and taken home.  Is this because I am going to be sedated in some way?  Just curious- forgot to ask.  Kim

I took myslef no numbness medicine and I was there maybe 30 minutes and left was a little sore but fine

I was just curious- I have to go fasting and they also told me to have someone drive me and I can't work the rest of the day.

Nobody with me .. actually I should have had somebody with me bcz I got results within 10mins of the biopsy .. I didn't know that .. could that be the reason why perhaps?

I drove myself to hospital to get the test done. The FNA biopsy took 10-20 minutes and they didn't numb the area. It was a little sore afterwards but otherwise fine..

They just gave me a shot in the neck to numb the area before the biopsy>it did not hurt at all and you just feel a little pressure when the samples are taking.I felt fine afterwards and drove myself back to work...it was no big deal at all...Best of luck to you!
