I'm getting a pre-determination letter before having the blood done. so i don't get screwed like i did with the stupid lyme test that i paid 1200 for
Just guessing, but I assume THR isn't on the list (they say it's not all-inclusive)???
cheese and crackers. gotta love the medical system. The test is $988 without insurance. My insurance company told me that they don't know if it would be covered and sent me this link and told me that i had to have one of the things listed at the bottom of the page. The problem is my doctor is a very great endocrinologist but struggles a little in english. I just cant see him filling out a letter of pre-determination before the test is run.
they told me i need to send him this. what a nightmare:

Given your LOOOOOOONG history and battle with this...
Adding a very small portion of T3 would be less expensive. You know that too much is no good so you know to be very careful with small dose.
At least adding some T3 you can stop and you still can ultimately do the genetic testing later if it doesn't work out.
Given your history, I'd definitely aim for the low end of the guideline recommendation. As I said, it won't take very long to see if a little T3 helps, then you can have your genetic screening! LOL
You are in a perfect position to sit on your 125 dose. And watch labs every 6 weeks. Your labs are right in there. Just relax, take your pill every day and let everything sort itself out over time. My blessings. :)
haha… i just did the stupid saliva stupid test through quest labs which showed perfect 4x cortisol. so if i can get my ft3 to 3.2, i might feel better? i think I'm the same as you. too much is.. too much
Ooooh, don't ask me the "perfect" FT3. As the saying goes, upper half to third of range, which means over 3.25 to over 3.57. However, that would probably kill me. Nope, you have to be your own guinea pig and find that one on your own.
You can try it. When you add T3, it doesn't take too long to figure out if it's doing anything or not.
Eh, you're rolling in the dough, go for it...LOL
Do you think before i should drop $1000 on a test, that i should try some t3 again? maybe 1/4 of 5mg to start at my crash time each day? my doctor is okay with that.
also what do you think would be the perfect t3 lab based on ranges 2.3 to 4.2?
I doubt there's an option that you haven't already tried!
FT4 looks good. There is plenty of wiggle room in your FT3; it's only 32% of range. It looks like you might need some T3, but haven't we been there before?
Personally, I'd go for the genetic screening.
