rheumatoid arthritis and graves?

I've read that people with autoimmune diseases sometimes actually have more than one.  Is this true?  I also read that rheumatoid arthritis is one of these illnesses.  Is there a connection between rheumatoid arthritis and graves?  I'm still researching this so I haven't quite found a definite answer.  I'm curious because not only do I have Graves but I have also developed arthritis.  I'm not certain but it seems that the symptoms from both started around the same time.  I have recently been diagnosed with degenerative scoliosis with arthritis and am curious if there is a connection with the two, though it was not classified as rheumatoid.  Is there testing that I should have done to dertimine this or just accept it as is and let nature take its course?

hi i have graves, and also degenerative disc disease, spondylosis , and scoliosis, in my thoracic spine, i was diagnosed in my early twenties, about 24yrs, then when i was 27 i was diagnosed with graves, which resulted in me having surgery as they couldnt control it,I had the symptoms of graves for about a year before diagnoses, which they put down to anxiety,
But kidsnchicks, i would be grateful if you find any information out to let me know as i would be interested, as i suffer with the same as you.
I dont know if graves and bone disease go together, or if its an immune process, what happens but ive been tested for rhuematoid and i dont have it.
So if you find out please let me know, i will watch this post
Hope you get better soon, and have you had your neck x-ray for spondylosis,? as i discovered the spondylosis, when i had graves,
I wish you well, and please keep me posted.

I have been told that people with graves should have a bone density test due to osteoporsis (sp?). I have yet to have one done, but I am clinically hypo (TT) when I was 23yrs old, now 39yrs old. I do get a lot of bone pain and have slight arthritis of the hip.

You may look into graves causing osteo.
