thyroid mass found on ultrasound

I am 26 I went in to have an ultrasound to rule out thyroid issues and the doctor called this morning said that I have to see an ENT right away that I have a large mass on the right and a cyst on the left.

No other info was given and I have to wait 2 weeks to see an ENT what does all this mean? surgery, meds? what and see? Very scared and need light.

You need to post the results (as everyone said) but meanwhile here is a good site that can help you understand:

I'll back up pep88, I have cysts on my liver, kidney, my arm, chest and back.
Nothing bad with any of them.

I had the same thing - no symptoms, but a large mass on the left and a cyst on the right. Because of the size (3 inches), I had the mass removed. It was benign. The cyst was not a concern at all to either my general practitioner or my ENT, especially as all my blood work continues to come back as normal.

If you have any details from your tests, please consider posting them so members can help you sort through them. If you DON'T have your test results, INSIST that your doctor provide you with copies of everything!

Did you have any bloodwork done?  Are you having any symptoms?  This is the hardest time.  The not knowing time...  But, the stats are on your side if you're a stats kinda person...  90% - 95% of thyroid nodules/cysts or masses are benign.  If you're not a stats person, then just try to not worry too much about that which you don't know to be diffinative.  It can drive you nuts...

I wish you a benign diagnosis.  You've come to the right place for understanding and information.  Keep us updated.
