Yes it can, however, everyone is different.
Myself & twin sister have or had graves/hyper, but neither of us every had anxiety.
YEs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Graves' disease is the name of the autoimmune condition that causes hyperthryoidism. It was first described by a Dr. Graves. It's what causes most hyperthyroidism. If you get the TSI test (simple blood test), they will be able to tell if you have the antibody that indicates Graves' disease. It's good to know what's causing your thyroid to be overactive.
Thanks so much uv helped me out a lot, what are graves? X
Symptoms include insomnia, diarrhea, weight loss, anxiety, elevated heart rate and blood pressure, mentstrual disturbances, etc. If you google "hyperthyroid symptoms", you can take a look at the long list.
You should get into the habit of asking for a printed copy of all your blood work and keeping your own history. You have to educate yourself and be your own advocate.
Your doctor should order a TSI test. Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin is the marker for Graves' disease, which is autoimmune hyperthyroidism. Most hyper is caused by Graves'. You'll want to confirm that you have Graves' or not.
You'll see big changes once on meds. Good luck with it, and if you have more questions, you know where we are!
