Were those labs "perfect" to you, or to your doctor? If they were perfect, why were you put on thyroid meds? I'd really like to see what those perfect labs look like.
Thank you so much,
Actual labs are perfect, I am on 0.050mcg though. Have seen dermatologist at Hopkins, not Alopecia, just major shedding.
Actually seems to be slowing, after over 1.5 years, but only been on 0.050, for 8 mos, still long time. But last two shampoos have been very EXCITING!
I am hopeful, that as the doctor said it will stop, not I am hoping, the thichness i had will return. I am lucky that I had very thick hair and to anyone who never met me, they would say what? But to me palmfuls of hair, every shower and , breaking my Orecks belt, an ORECK for Petes' sake! Was very trumatic as you all well know, Its OUR hair!
Thank you again so much and I just hope it stays as little as the last two showers. i just ordered new shampoo from HSN on sale, KERANIQUE™ 5-piece Deluxe Volumizing Hair Care System - AutoShip Item: 180-696.
I did not buy the thinning as the minoxidil is only 2%, and at Hopkins they advised me to use Mens foam 5% 2x a day , even though it says not for women. This was the dermatology doc. They stated the 2% is ineffective FYI. I did buy it, but don't really want to use it unless I have to and I am not there as yet. I also use WEN sweet almond mint,Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner as well argon-6. On the less expensive side, Aveno Nourish and Strengthen. These all seem to make my hair softer, stronger and feel better than it has in months.
I Hope I have given some of you guys a little info you didn't have already.
In addition to above, you may want to see your doctor for a physical ... sorry this is happening. Alopecia comes to mind ..
Agree with gimel; we really can't comment without seeing current thyroid test results, with reference ranges, which vary lab to lab so must come from your own report.
Before commenting further, please post your thyroid test results before starting on meds and also the latest thyroid tests and their reference ranges shown on the lab report.
