Hashi's diagnosis post lobectomy

I am frustrated!!!!  Just met with the surgeon and he is telling me it is highly unlikely that the remaining lobe will end up with Hashi's.  This does not make sense to me.  He did order a TSH, T3 and T4 which I had done today and will refer me to and Endo.  I

am glad he is an excellent surgeon however a bit frustrated that he is trying to diagnose - just cut and sew man!!!  He also told me my TSH would have to be 5.0 to give me meds.  I did educate him on the AACE new limits - ha!!!!

Hopefully I can start meds soon!!!!

yes, i had one that we went through all the testing and the next step was a surgical biopsy.  That is just another name for removal!  I am 2 weeks out of surgery and hopefully will be seeing a endo soon.  I have never been on any meds and all the tests were done through my GP.

Hi,
i had a question, why did you have a lobectomy with just a hashimotos dx? did you have nodules that were questionable?

Well, the Dr they are referring me to is a member of the AACE so....there is some hope.    I hate the waiting - I thought they might call me today to schedule the appt - maybe I will hear from them tomorrow when I get the blood tests back.
