I had a TT going on 18yrs ago, and still doing the dosage change. I think getting older will also play a part on how are bodies handle medication.
I am hoping when I go in next week to my Endo appt. the dosage stays the same..
yes but he didnt wait 4 years.
And as Tom Petty once sang....
"The waiting is the hardest part"
Good luck,
I too am going on 4 years as well.
I am doing better each year...
And hope this last dose change is THE ONE...even if it last only 6 months...I will take that...

I don't switch too much. I was on erfa for 7 months. The stuff didnt agree with me. then they put me on a compound. I felt better but had the crappy labs so they gave me a tiny boost. Thats it. We all go through changed in the beginning, sort of a rite of passage. Its been 4 years now. I have really not changed a whole lot. Plus when the thyroid came out, all my past "mistakes" were expunged!!
I also agree...gotta wait. But....
When I was on a compound, it was 115 T4 and 5 T3
2 lab tests and waiting the 6 weeks each time... and both my Ts were on the floor..though I felt tired and hungry I felt ok with a TSH of 43!
I am now on Triosint T4 and a T3 pill...I started on 125 mcgs but am now on 100 mcgs of T4! plus the added T3...and I feel better as I was going hyer on the higher doses of T4 Triosint.
For some reason the compound didn't absorb in my system
Just my experience...

I agree with Barb135, wait another 3 weeks then get tested for the T4.
You switch to much for me to remembe what you have tried or been on.
You had all those tests done at Mayo, as well as a lot of others, so if there were a pituitary issue, I think it would have been found.
Being tired is a symptom of a lot of other things, too, or simply because you didn't get enough sleep or eat the right foods to give you energy, etc. I'm also not sure how much exercise you're getting, and lack of exercise can make you tired.
Well i had 300 erfa 60's. Then when they bumped me to 3 grains i wanted to split dose so i ordered 300 30's. I really thought i was going to stay on erfa. So now i have a buttload of erfa.
Barb, all good points and thank you. I realize today I'm pretty tired. But i don't have the weird effects that the armour had on me. the agitation, the jitters, the raised heart rate, all that stuff. took my dose last night at 150 t4. WIll stay the course for 6 weeks. I do have a consult with an endo next week just for ***** sake to make sure they didnt miss anything in my testing. The lady i see now only does hormones, she doesn't check pituitary, or any other whacky stuff.
If you lived in Greece, storing 700 thyroid replacement tablets would be the best thing you ever did. I feel very sorry for anyone who lives in Greece.
The first thing is that this was only the 3-week mark on the T4 med, so it won't have reached full potential, but how much it will come up in the next 2-3 weeks is debatable.
Next, I'd want to see labs taken at the time you switched. Were your levels good or were they off then, too?
I have to wonder about the compound. Maybe there's something with the selenium and zinc IN the pills that affects your absorption rate. You might want to check that out, since we're told that vitamins/minerals should be separated from thyroid med by at least 4 hours.
Your numbers are clearly "off" to put it mildly, but if you feel better, maybe you're one of those that will do best with lower levels. If it were me and I wasn't having a lot of major symptoms, I'd go ahead with the slight increase (she's doing that slowly, which is best) and stay the course. Keep in mind now, that testing at your "6 week mark", will really only be a 3 week mark, again, since you're changing doses and it won't have reached full potential.
I'd recommend not getting such huge quantities of pills at one time -- they do have a shelf life and when you change doses so often, they'll go to waste. 700 ERFA pills is certainly a waste, unless you decide to go back on them, at some point. I read somewhere that larger quantities should be sealed well to keep out any moisture and kept in the fridge or freezer, to insure freshness.
