Variable TSh levels -> Hyperthension ?

Woman,age 56
After a thyroidecotmy about 3 years ago,the tsh levels are very variable even though she is on Letrox(Eutirox) on different dosage based on the variability of TSH levels. For example,Letrox dosage 100mcg/day  the TSH levels get very low(<0.25) then if she lowers the dosage of Letrox on 75 or 50 mcg/day the levels of Tsh goes at a normal level, but after some time the levels goes up and then she needs to higher again the Letrox level. And this circulus goes on and on...
Also she does experience crisis of high blood pressure which causes strong headaches. Normally she doesnt have blood pressure problem, this crisis happens maybe once or twice a month.
Now my question is:Does the TSH levels have a affect of this Hyperthension and headache crisis???
Thank you !

Oops -- I meant to say "TSH is a variable hormone by itself and should NOT be used, alone, to diagnose or treat a thyroid condition. TSH can vary greatly, even intraday."

No, TSH is not the reason for hypertension or headache.  TSH neither causes, alleviates or correlates with symptoms.  It's simply a diagnostic indicator of thyroid status and should NOT be used as the sole basis for diagnosing a thyroid condition or adjusting medication.

The Free T3 is the hormone that correlates best with symptoms.

As I said before, TSH can vary even intraday and you should not be adjusting medications that often, a patient is then kept on a roller coaster and actual hormone levels are never given a chance to stabilize.

It takes 4-6 weeks for each dosage change to take effect.  Changing dosages more often than that is doing much more damage than good.

What I'm trying to tell you is that TSH, naturally, fluctuates all the time AND it's irrelevant to how the patient feels.  It's the Free T3 and Free T4, which are the actual thyroid hormones, that determine how the patient feels, not TSH.

Many things can cause hypertension/headache, ranging from stress to other illnesses.

Constantly adjusting medication, based on TSH levels is not good for the patient.

Thank you for the replies.
But why after 3 years the tsh levels is not getting normal, after regular medication ? This happens to all patients after a thyroidectomy?
And what else can cause the hyperthension/headache crisis?

TSH is a variable hormone by itself and should be used, alone, to diagnose or treat a thyroid condition. TSH can vary greatly, even intraday.

It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for a dosage change to take effect and by constantly adjusting medication based, solely on TSH, the person is being kept on a roller coaster and never actually stabilizing.

Besides the TSH, you need to, also be testing Free T3 and Free T4, which are the actual thyroid hormones and are much more reliable than TSH. Symptoms must also be considered when adjusting dosage.

The person needs to get on a dosage and stay there for at least 4-6 weeks, then test Free T3, Free T4 and TSH, then depending on the levels of Free T3 and Free T4, dosage can be adjusted again....... TSH should have nothing to do with dosage adjustment.
