hi! Thanks so much for your response. I went to the dr three weeks ago and he did say i have Graves Disease and put me on medication. I just got my blood work back and for my thyroid it was all within normal range. I was very exited to see that after only 3 weeks, but my other blood tests for BUN, T. Bilirubin, and ALT were all low. Do you know if this is normal with the medication because these testes are typically in the normal range for me.
Thanks forl all your help,
liz
I would also ask the Specialist for a TSI (thyroid stimulating immuniglobulins) test to be done to rule out Graves Disease which an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid.
Make sure you get labs done...Free T4, Free T3 and TSH done every 3-4 weeks while on anti-thyroid medications and also ask for a beta blocker as this will help with the 'hyper' feelings (fast heartrate, sweats, anxiety etc).
Having antibodies with the TPO shows you have an autoimmune disease and it looks like Graves Disease to me.
Usually RAI or a TT is recommended if levels cannot be stablaised (sorry to be the bearer of bad news).
Hope that helps you understand your condition better and in the meantime, research all you can on Graves Disease and Hyperthyroidism.
All the best :o)
