Thanks for your responses, all of it good advice I feel. My problem is still ongoing but you've given me plenty of info to take back to the consultant at my next appointment. If this ever gets resolved I will let the world know! Thanks all.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well if no cause is found in the eye like a squint, corneal ulcer, decrease in tears, dryness of eye, conjunctivitis, palpebral edema, stye, lacrimal sac infection, eye strain, refractive errors of eye like near or far sightedness etc, then it could be due to high BP, diabetes, thyroid problems or due to occulomotor nerve palsy. If you have diplopia due to third nerve or occulomotor palsy then consult an eye specialist or an optometrist to measure the angle of divergence of the visual axes. If this angle is large then you will have to patch up one eye till this angle lessens and then spectacles with horizontal or vertical prism can be used. If the angle is small then horizontal or vertical prism can help correct this. Take care!
I've never had the problem but recommend you try wearing a patch over it a couple of days to allow it to rest, and not be used to see if that helps.
Good Luck
i have a scar on the back of my eye as a result of rubella as a child. it never got fixed and i have to wear glasses, as im so short sighted. whenevr i have tests done they pretty much give up as my results are always off the scale.
