Gooey liquid instead of blood on my period?!

Ok so I've been having a problem with my period and I'm trying to get to a doctor but haven't found the time. I just had my period last week and I had one day where my pad would have some dark brown liquid. The other days, it was just some clear gooey liquid and I've only been having my period since July. So far I keep leaking the same clear gooey liquid and I'm not sure what it is either. I just recently turned 13 and I'm really scared about my problem. I tried telling my mom but she is really busy now a days and I still don't know if I should try to tell her again. I don't know what to do because usually I would wake up with my underwear being soaked in the liquids. Ever since my second month on my period, I haven't been really leaking blood. It was always the same clear stuff. Can anyone help me with the problem??

Well IF you just got your period, it can take months for your body to start a normal cycle. And the clear gooey stuff is discharge. As long as it doesn't smell, itch OR burn, isn't really yellow, or WHITE and clumpy.  it's normal. Your body is changing. Hormones are all out of whack. BUT I'd still talk to your mom about it. I'm sure her explaining things would also help.

This sounds very normal to me.  You're very young, so you're still getting used to menstruation as being a part of your life.  It is actually normal to have the brownish colored blood at the beginning and the end or your period.  Your body is just getting started, so your hormones are still changing into adult hormones.  The clear fluids you're describing are completely normal.  Many women wear just a panty liner near the end of their period when this is happening.  If you get it near the beginning, this is still normal, but you'll want to go ahead and wear a normal full-sized pad because it's also normal for you to not have much happening until you suddenly have the rush of blood discharging.

There will likely be times when you're not experiencing your period when you get a thick clear or whitish discharge once a month for a day or two.  This is also normal.  It's just part of ovulation.  You will also likely notice clumps of jelly like bloody discharge.  This is blood clots.  You do not need to be concerned when you see this either.  Although, you might experience menstrual cramps while your body is trying to expel these blood clots.  This, too, is normal.  It is also normal for you to feel more emotional and for you to experience fatigue during your menstruation cycle.

I also agree that you must use protection if you are already sexually active.  I applaud you if you are not already sexually active.  You are so young, and the adults saying this to you are only concerned for your welfare and your future.  Young people are inexperienced and it's easier to give into peer pressure at school than ever before.  Youths simply aren't experienced enough to make some of the decisions that their peers of the same age group pressure them into making.  Peer pressure and bullying was already so awful when I was your age.  The things I've seen on TV news and talk shows that talks about what is going on with public schools and even colleges make me shudder and make me really glad I'm not having to endure that environment while also being a very young person.  Also, if you are experiencing bullying both in and out of school, including cyber bullying, please tell a trusted adult in real life.  Not an adult you don't know really well online, but a trusted adult who is someone in your life.  Bullies do not have the right to tell you what to do with your life.

okay because you just started your period, it may be lighter at the begining, im not sure for sure but the dark brown discharge is probably old blood, which is normal and the clear goopy stuff is probably your body cleaning the old blood out.. if the discharge is ever chunky like cottage cheese or fowel smelling, green anything like that then it would be something to see a Dr or if your really itchy down there...
also when i started getting my period it did start light and short and got heavier and longer as the months went by... also you will also notice about 14 days before you get your period that you will have a sticky discharge that means you are ovulating(possibly what your noticing)... anyway from time to time even now my body will have that thick goopy discharge that has brown color in it (old blood) and its just the way the body cleans up (im 27)

hopefully this eases your mind, if you are worried about it you can still talk to a Dr... im not sure if you have a health phone line you can call, but if you do they should have nurses who you can discuss your concerns with and ask any questions
PS are you sexually active? if so are you using protection...
