Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If ear is the cause of vertigo (rotator movement of self or environment) then it could be due to benign positional vertigo, Meniere's disease, vestibular neuronitis and labyrinthitis. Other causes of dizziness are otitis media, trauma, side effects of drugs, and fluid in ear. If it is blocked Eustachian tube, then doing a valsalva maneuver (Done by taking a deep breath and blowing while pinching your nostrils and closing your mouth) will help. This will help clear the secretions in the tube that connects the back of your throat with your ear. All these causes will have to be ruled out one by one by your ENT through specialized test. If the symptoms worsen before your appointment go to the ER. Take care!
Dec 12, 2010 Do this pranayam twice a day for more than 20 minutes and it will help the ears get better. Let me know when you start to notice the benefit. This works gradually, so allow weeks, but you will notice something in 9 days first.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30 minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.
Sounds like it might not be directly caused by ear problems... perhaps - and I'm not a doctor, so I'm probably wrong - something more connected to the brain? Are you experiencing other symptoms? The dizzyness is often caused by infection in one ear - I had major infection when I was about eight, had exactly the same problems, but am fine now - or it could be to do with your brain trying to tell you something is wrong.
Oh, and suicide is never your only choice, just as a by-the-by. You'll get through this easy, us humans are more than capable of adapting in any case - and if you end up with hearing loss (not that I think you will, judging from what you've said) you'll get all the girls :P
i would suggest you go to A and E i say this to everyone but if your ears are that bad then that is where you should go. A and E can help with the most unusuall propblem. if you feel that your doctor is not doing his job proply then ask him if you can be refferd to an ear nose and throat specialist who knows more about ears than your dr or ask your dr if you can be seen by another dr at your clinic. i have tried it and it worked for me. good luck
