If you have pets you may have fleas breeding in your carpet or rugs. Quite often you won't see them as they jump up bite and jump back. Have your pets checked for fleas and if they have them then get your home exterminated and keep your pets free from fleas by using frontline medication. The fleas will only get worse and they will be in your bed, chairs all over your house. You probably have tiny welts on your ankles.
That is associated with the nerves in your legs and feet. You will get a sharp little bite like feeling when the neuron fires, you look, and nothing is there. I have the same problem. If you notice it is worse when you have been on your feet for an extended amount of time, or have sat for an extended time, at least that's the case with me. I have found if I sit or lay down and prop up my feet a few minutes if helps. If you just started having this problem you may start also noticing slight swelling of your feet and legs which is related to fluid retention and the circulation being decreased from standing or walking or sitting too long. Make sure if you notice the swelling you limit you salt intake and increase your water intake and that should help too. Also when sitting, or standing, frequent position changes will help prevent the problem. Have a wonderful night.
