After i have been to the gym and exercised or have been to a music gig where i have jumped around i get very hot & red in the face and i get these pounding headaches. Is this normal? Or should i be worried?

Hi,

How are you?
Many people get headaches during and after exercises due to extreme physical exertion. Please make sure you do warm ups and cool downs before and after exercise.
Another important factor is maintaining proper hydration during and after exercise.
You can try taking an OTC pain killer before exercise and that would prevent the occurrence of headache.
Take care!

Just a wild guess, but the circulatory system comes to mind. You might want to talk to your doc about at what point an MRA of the head and neck might be warranted to check that the blood flow is normal.

Im on no new meds, infact no meds at all!

I do have borderline hypertension. I have always gone red in the face when i exercise for as long as i remember, i was more worried about the headaches after exercising. Does anyone else get these?

Are you on any new meds that could cause this? How is your blood pressure? Have you had a general medical checkup for any obvious things going on? Back when my body was overly stressed due to long standing sleep disorders, I was red faced and sweaty with the least exertion. Also had edema during this time. Don't do it so much any more.
