Temp related illnesses

I heard that there was a disease that was related to the weather. The person cant be out in the sun for a long time or the may faint, pass out. If the teperature gets above a specific temperature it is hard for that person's body to respond to the he and they could have a sunstroke. I am trying to find out what this illness is called if there is one. I am writing a novel and wanted to make the main character have arare illness that affected his daily life. No, I am not sick but i haven't found a thing so i thought if I ask I would learn if the illness even exists. I saw a girl on tv that had something that sounded like this but I cant figure out what the illness is. The show was Home Improvement ans Home MakeOver or something and they redid her families house so she could have a more carefree house. I would really like to know what it is or maybe something else. I really want to right about a illness that not many people know about in a fiction story that could help make people understand the life of people around them more. I really would like some help. I am in college and don't have much time so I am really in a bind now that I can't figure out the name. Can someone help me find out?

Thank you, that helps so much. ^-^ I am so sorry for not getting back to you. I have been busy with college stuff so it was hard for me to work on my novel. I am back at it though. I think I am going to make him be born  with the very rare disease where the hypothalamus never developed. I can work with him being cold blooded I think more than it not working, but I might chage my mind. Either way it helps a lot more to know that it may work out in the story some. Thank you again.

If you have more suggestions you may always tell me. ^-^ I am really open for more ideas for my novel or for another novel.

Hi,

It’s great to know you are writing a novel and you seem to have some good creative thoughts about the character in the novel. Unfortunately, I haven’t come across such a disorder in which a person becomes prone to a heat stroke. Fortunately, the hypothalamus which is a part of our brain and is responsible for maintaining the temperature does a pretty decent job and is able to maintain the body temperature even in the extremes of external temperature which can vary from 550 C to – 600 C. I suggest that you make a character who’s hypothalamus is not working or may be he was born with a very very rare disease in which no hypothalamus developed in the brain and the person became cold blooded (one who’s body temperature varied with the external temperature) and not warm blooded (what we normally are).

I hope that helps.

Please do revert if you want some more suggestions.

Kind regards.
