chest pain - urgent

i am 33fem with hashimotos for over 12yrs and mild mvp
with mitral insufficiency.i also suffer from anxiety mainlty heart anxiety.

today i went with my kids to an outdoor gym.
a friend and i started to do power walking.anyway 15 mins later when we slowed down i had a twinge of pain in the middle which didn't last more than a sec but which scared me a lot so i sat down.

30 mins later or so i stared burping what i had eaten earlier producing a very sour taste in my mouth.

i had eaten about 2 hrs before.

could this pain have been indigestion or could it be heart related?

it has never happened before. i had a stress test 2.5 ago and a doppler echo of the heart last year all well.

desperately need yr advice.

pls note i climbed 3 flight of stairs 1 hour after and i did that ok with not even a twinge.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Personally, I do not feel your problem is related to heart. Your tests related to your heart are ok. Chances are that you have esophageal reflux (GERD), where the food in your stomach is thrown up into your food pipe or esophagus. This also causes burning sensation or discomfort in the chest area and burps. Another possibility is hiatal hernia, where a portion of stomach herniates into the chest cavity through the diaphragm. This causes acidity like symptoms and burps too.

Omeprazole is a good drug to combat this. Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. However I would recommend you see a doctor and take medication under a doctor’s supervision. Avoid heavy meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
