extream leg pain

I am a 52 yr. old female and i just had surgery on my lower back to numb a few of my lower back nerves. Well this procedure seemed to kind of work for a couple of days and then back came the pain and it is worse this time It is almost unbearable and it is connstant, It hardly ever lessens up.I am on methadone for the pain but that doesn't work. I just lay in bed in excruciating pain . I am at my wits end, sometimes I feel it would be better to be dead than to have to go through this pain another day and night. I really don't know what to do. It seems like the doctors don't beleive me that I nam having such terrible pain , I just don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions?? The pain radiates up and down my right leg from my upper leg all around that whole area. Its unbearable, Could someone please help me.

FYI, you probably know but I'll mention that the epidural is a steroid injection into the spine which stops inflammatory pain near the compressed disks or facet joints that are pinching the nerves. I think that even if you had a nerve(s) that were being compressed inbetween muscle like with sciatica or other similar problems it would probably work too but I would ask about that. I personally would stay away from chiropractors.

My husband had lower back problems which radiated to his leg ,( x ray showed slipped disc) and the doctor said he had siatica, he went to chiro, massures did nothing, one day he just could not move went to hospital said just rest and gave or prescibed nothing until one of our friends mentioned about a blind massure and he clicked the disc into place and my husband felt 90 pct better, has the doctor given you corterzone injections, it could help, my mum has a lower back problemand it is osteo artheritist she has to put up with the pain and take antiinflamatories Good luck keep us posted

Have you had an MRI and if so what were the results? If you have nerve pain did you have it ablated? Nerves can grow back in about 6-9 months but perhaps they irriatated the nerves. I would go back to the orthopedic surgeon and talk to them about it. Otherwise, you might think of getting off methadone and getting a epidural a couple of times a year.
