"new" issue with breathing and heart rate

lately, i've been having a little more trouble with breathing and my heart rate has been spiking randomly to 115 (using 2 different sensors, both have reported 111-115 during non-active times)
with palpitations. when i breathe in during these heart rate spikes, it tends to feel like i'm breathing in gas more than air.
and my lungs feel very very faintly uncomfortable and painful. i've started exercising lately (past week) and it never seems to happen during any heavy activity. and at random, i'll take a deep breath that seems too big for my lungs. i got an EKG and xray in august, but nothing came of it, and my family keeps dismissing me, which is an issue because i have to rely on them for transport.

Do you suffer from anxiety?  I wonder because it's odd if you have no record of heart problems to be checking your heart rate.  And an EKG picks up almost nothing unless it was done while you were doing a stress test.  It can pick up certain anomalies, but if you just sit there and take that test it's not going to be definitive on heart problems.  Also, many people feel palps but aren't actually having them.  This is common with anxiety sufferers.
