possible clogged carotid

about 2 months ago i started getting slight chest pains on the left side and alot of shortness of breath sometimes even when im talking or tieing my shoes, they have done a nuclear stress test and also they have done a heart cath and everything look fine they tell me but im still haveing the problems well about 3 weeks ago i woke up and the left side of my face is slightley numb and feels droopey even tho it dosent look diffrent and too this day i still feel this , my dad had a blocked carotid and i read somewhere it may be herditary its that true ?? does anyone have any idea what may be causeing my problems if you dont think its my carotid ?? and my last part of the question is wouldnt they have seen the carotid blocked with the heart cath ????? im 48 yrs old non drinker , non smoker, have high blood pressure which im on meds for and i have a slow thyroid which im on meds for and i do get alot of headaches

I have had 8 heart caths and one stent replaced 8 times and having artery pain in my right groin and pain in my arteries in my chest and in both armsany where you can get a pulse my question is can you get scar tissue build up in your arteries from having so many caths. And i have shortness of breaths and dizziness. i hope someone can help me ansewer these questions. or has any one else had as many as i have and do they feel the same pains and pressure in their arterires as i do

Thanks for writing to the forum!
You have had a very tough time for sure! Well repeated cath procedures can cause damage to arteries and inflammation too. I would suggest you take another opinion before any other procedure. You are not accepting the stent well for some reason. At times the position of the block is such that a stent cannot be successfully placed. The option then is bypass surgery. The pain could be due to inflammation of the arteries. Femoral block may not be the answer. You may need to take antibiotics by the IV route. Please consult another cardiologist with your cath and angiography reports.
