throat pain when breathing

my friend complains to have pains on the throat when breathing? what will be the cause of this problem? he does not have any pain when swallowing anaything

Hello,

Throat pain on breathing is found usually in those people who breathe by the mouth.It is also found in people with adenoid hyperplasia.

Other causes may include upper respiratory tract infections,subacute thyroiditis and compression of the nerves of the throat and thorax.

I feel that your friend should consult an ENT specialist soon as pain in the throat on breathing is not normal.It is mostly pathological.
