6yo w/abnormal urinalysis, frequent urination & bedwetting

My 6 year old daughter went for her annual exam today. My concerns that I spoke to the doctor about were frequent urination and bed wetting. I was concerned about her possibly being a diabetic. Her doctor and I have spoken in the past about possibly referring her to a pediatric urologist for the bed wetting but I always felt like she would grow out of it in time and the added stress wasn't necessary.

She had a urinalysis done today and they found leukocytes and occult blood in her urine. I asked if it was more than would be found from a not clean enough catch and they said yes, plus the blood was abnormal. They sent some samples to a lab for a culture and another test that I can't remember. They decided to schedule her for a consult with a pediatric urologist. Her pediatrician feels that she has a small bladder and obviously some sort of infection. My daughter doesn't have any pain and there was no sugar in her urine.

What can we expect at a visit to a pediatric urologist? Is it really a necessary visit for her symptoms? She is very anxious about doctor visits and while I want to keep her healthy, I don't want to cause her any unnecessary stress. I had a lot of UTIs when I was a child and my mother had severe nephrosis was she was a child.
